Incumbent Workforce Development Program

Are you looking for an effective and efficient way to upgrade the skills of your workers to stay competitive in this global economy?

The Centralina Workforce Development Board offers funding for Incumbent Worker training to provide local businesses with the money needed to provide training for their current workforce.

Since 2003, the Centralina Workforce Development Board has awarded 56 grants to local businesses with skills training provided to over 3,200 employees. A total of $1,664,731.00 in Incumbent Worker funding has been approved, thus providing real economic investment in existing businesses and the workforce for our region.

Incumbent Worker training grants are competitive with final approval for funding from the NC Department of Commerce. The first round of grants for this year is coming up in September.

There will be three rounds for applications to be submitted.  The dates to have your application into the Centralina Workforce Development Board are:

 1st Round - Please submit application to the Centralina WDB by September 19, 2007
2nd Round - Please submit application to the Centralina WDB by January 21, 2008
3rd Round - Please submit application to the Centralina WDB by May 20, 2008
